Stove Top Hot Chocolate, preserved in the Brown Family Cookbook 2020.

Ingredients

  • ⅔ C. Sugar
  • ¼ C. Chocolate chips
  • ½ C. unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ C. Heavy cream
  • 1 Tbs. cornstarch
  • ½ tsp. Vanilla
  • 3 ½ C. Milk

Method

    In a medium saucepan whisk together sugar, cocoa powder and cornstarch. Pour in milk then whisk until well blended.

    Bring to a light boil over medium heat, stirring frequently, then reduce heat to medium-low and let simmer about 10 - 15 seconds stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in chocolate chips. When chocolate chips are melted, stir in cream and vanilla. Let cool a bit before serving.
