Scarily Good Pumpkin Spice Bars, preserved in the Brown Family Cookbook 2020.

Ingredients
- ¼ cup ketchup
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 2 eggs
- ¼ tsp. ground ginger
- ½ cup oil
- ¼ tsp. ground cloves
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ¼ tsp. ground allspice
- 1 cup minus 2 tbsp. Canned pumpkin
- 1 cup (6 oz.) semisweet chocolate chips (about ½ of a 15 oz. can - NOT pumpkin pie mix) Frosting -
- 1 cup flour
- 4 oz. cream cheese (½ of an 8 oz. pkg.)
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- ¼ cup (½ stick) butter, softened
- ½ tsp. baking powder
- 1 cup plus 2 tbsp. Powdered sugar
- ¼ tsp. salt
- ½ tsp. vanilla
- 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 9x13-in. Pan.
- 2. In large bowl of an electric mixer, combine the ketchup, eggs, oil, granulated
- sugar and pumpkin. Sift together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt,
- cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and allspice. With mixer at low speed, gradually add
- dry ingredients to the pumpkin mixture. Blend well, scraping the bowl. Stir in the
- chocolate chips and pour into the prepared pan. (It will not be a deep layer.)
- 3. Bake about 20 minutes (but check early), until a toothpick inserted in the centere
- comes out clean. Cool completely on a wire rack.
- 4. For frosting, in a small bowl of an electric mixer beat together the cream cheese
- and butter until smooth. Sift the powdered sugar and add a little at a time,
