Pastry for 2-crust pie (sometimes I skip ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon the bottom crust to make it easier) 2 ½ cups (12 oz) diced ham

Ingredients

  • 3 cups (1 pound before peeling) tart
  • 2 cups (8 oz) sharp cheddar cheese, cooking apples, peeled and diced grated or diced
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 egg beaten with 1 tablespoon water
  • ¼ cup flour
  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease 9” or 10” pie plate, line with pastry.

Method

    diced ham and cheese. Transfer the filling to the lined pie plate. Roll out the top crust, cut designs or slits to make vents, then place it on top of the filling. Seal and crimp the edges, brush the top with egg wash, if desired, and place the pie on a lined baking sheet.

    Bake pie for 55 minutes. Remove from the oven and cool for 20 minutes before
