Chewy Chocolate Cookies

These cookies have always been a specialty of my Uncle Randy’s and he has submitted slight changes to his original recipe (noted below). Randy says: “None of this rolling in powdered sugar stuff or adding walnuts! This exact recipe won for the cookie of the year on Martha Stewart’s T.V. show.” Yep, they’re that good. In a large bowl, cream together very well:

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter room temperature
  • 2 cups sugar
  • Add:
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 1 t baking soda 1/2 salt
  • Mix together separately, then add:
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup Hershey's cocoa
  • 1/4 cup water

    *Place good spoonfuls on a tray and bake at 350 for 8-9 minutes depending on your oven. They will come out under done, but wait for ten minutes and they will be chewy and delicious.
